  1. My Intention is to bring Mindfulness programs to Individuals as well as Businesses into the Community with a non-traditional focus-educating them about how to bring about the sensing of Present moments in the body with all the encompassing features: The Breath, sensing into the body, having no right or wrong, no judgements, just a sense of what is, in the present moment, right now.

    The whole sense of this is to understand it is a process.

  2. Students and teachers really do grow together and it is often a fine line between who is actually doing the teaching and who the learning. I do really appreciate the simplicity but completeness of the definition mindfulness as 'paying attention to the present moment with curiosity and non-judgement. The reality of the power of mindfulness is worth noting especially in the area of compassion v's empathy, being and doing modes, and how to make use of both qualities. The key concept of we can't teach a student anything they don't already know is so profound and really like the idea of supporting our students to trust themselves and know they are their own best guide and teachers – this really resonates for me. Also really love how Sara always does a dedication of the lesson.

  4. A good reminder to sense and understand and respond to everything in our daily life from the mundane to meaning, purpose and especially the connection with others no matter what background, age or color we are.

  5. Two aspects were super powerful for me: the being and doing mode. I realize, the mind demands doing mode, almost also when I am sleeping, being mode is what my spirit has been seeking, since child. So peaceful, so nurturing so safe and protective and so connecting with all around, all the Universe. So beautiful..
    The second is the power of trust: allow things to happen, trusting g the process of the being mode of myself and students. the higher self, the inner guru supports us at all times, we just need to give space to ourselves to be in contact with this confidence attitude.

What resonated most for me in this lesson is that when we help students and ourselves 1) pay attention, 2) in the present moment, 3) with curiosity and non-judgement we can help unwind years of negative mental patterns. We begin to discover our own depths and resources, and create a peaceful inner environment that helps us solve our problems for ourselves, Thank you

  7. I appreciate this chapter. This chapter has a wealth of information for the teacher. I engaged wholeheartedly with excitement because I received more than expected from this course thus far. This affirmed my feelings and thoughts about mindfulness, like the meaning of "the now" and heightening that the goal of mindfulness is to be "fully be yourself." I also enjoyed the being vs. doing mode; that visual was helpful to connect with understanding mindfulness.

  8. Trust and Purpose together are keys to a powerful experience. I loved the concept about "you cannot teach what you do not know and you cannot learn what you do not already know." I realized I paraphrased what you said slightly different, but I wanted to capture what I heard. Thank you for an informative session.

  9. Enjoyed and loved this first session. I was particularly struck by the power of trust, helping students reconnect with the wholeness that is already within them (love this!), that mindfulness is focused on process and not focused on the outcome, and that we can't teach students anything they don't already know.

  10. I Appreciate the reminder about we can only learn something we already knew. So Meditation is a reminder that we all were once in presence and this training will help us to remember how easier life can be from this perspective.

    1. The part that resonates with me is the student is their guru, and our job is to guide them to be independent of us.

  13. Thank you for the teaching and material. I would like to ask a question. How do we explain in a simple way, what does it mean with "paying intention with curiosity"?

    Love the idea to start this session with a meditation session and close it with taking time to observe again our intention. As well as dedicate the benefit of learning this part for our future student.

  14. I really loved this. The reminder of the power of trust. That our role is to show our students that they're the guru and that our role needs to diminish and become obsolete as they're shown their own depths and trust that they can be guided from this moment. Thank you!

  15. I love the portion on being and doing and aa a core element of mindfulness it's less about doing and more about being – simple concept that others would easily understand.

  16. So many wonderful nuggets in this lesson! "NOW comprises both internal & external experiences". We know this to be true, but oh how often we forget and live mainly externally and neglect the internal. Loved seeing in writing the breakdown of being versus doing. Moving away from seeking…yes! Trust…so important and can be so difficult. I guess the work is to be aware and mindful of what this feels like:) Thank you Sara-Mai. Your voice is soothing.

  17. This was a lovely introduction to the course that started with a grounding meditation that helped me solidify my intentions.
