dornapersson@mac.com
I am Dorna Persson, live in Stratford, Connecticut, and have practiced mindfulness meditation for nearly 30 years - it never gets old I came to it through Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and an almost chance session in NYC with Jon Kabat-Zinn! It has made a profound impact on my life. I am a retired elementary school library media specialist and also taught at the college level. After retiring, I combined my passions for teaching and meditation and got a certificate to teach mindfulness to K-12 students through Mindful Schools. I then taught third graders mindfulness. Just before the world shut down, I began teaching mindfulness meditation with small groups of adults. I am so thankful to have found Sean Fargo's amazing certification course with its rich curriculum. I look forward in the future to teaching in community centers, libraries, and senior citizen centers.

Administrators Gillian Florence Posted November 16, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 16, 2020 Hello Dorna! It is wonderful to connect with you here. I, too, came to mindfulness through Jon Kabat-Zinn. I felt a bit stuck in life and new I needed something 'different' and so I made my way to a local bookstore, scanned the shelves for something that spoke to me, and ended up leaving with 'Wherever You Go, There You Are'. I am very grateful for that moment - that turning point. If you'd like to jump in on some other conversations here in the community, here are a few of our recent topics: What qualities do you admire in your own mindfulness & meditation teachers? What are you grateful for today? Future Self Journaling If you have any questions going forward, feel free to reach out anytime.
