  1. Dear All, I'm Tünde, writing to you from a small village in Germany, very close to tiny Luxembourg. I'm 43 years old, I have a little 2 and a half year old adorable boy and a great Israeli man by my side. I am Hungarian originally, so we are a quite international family here. I have always been drawn to mindfulness, the interest has been there for some time. To such an extent that my boss noticed it and asked me to guide some short meditations at work to some interested colleagues. And then I found myself eager to learn even more about mindfulness and how to teach others in a professional way. So I am giving myself the time now: I took an unpaid leave from work to focus on my studies (and also some other family/personal projects supporting well-being such as decluttering our home and doing more sports). I also have listened to some buddhist teachings some time ago, from Lama Jigme in the Tibetan Cultural Centre in Luxembourg city. He has been my spiritual leader until now. Excited to begin this journey Tünde
  2. Hello Sean, Gillian, and Community, My name is Claire; I live in Hampton Roads, Virginia. I am really enjoying this teaching course both for the material and the reinforced commitment to my own mindfulness practice. I am new to mindfulness teaching but I have worked to help others over the last 15 or so years. Mindfulness and meditation have personally helped me cope with some of the most stressful periods of my adult life; I wish to learn more about sharing this practice with others to help those in stressful/traumatic situations. Most recently, I became a licensed massage therapist to help others cope with stress and trauma through bodywork, however that endeavor has been put on hold due to covid. Instead I am looking forward to using this course to continue my mindfulness education and incorporate this training into my future work. I may also be returning to active duty in 2021 after a sabbatical and plan to offer mindfulness courses to help my duty station personnel better cope with stress. I have been slowly reading the introductions and attending Sean's weekly sessions as able - thank you to everyone who has shared their goals and experiences. I am very honored to be on this journey with you. Happy Thanksgiving, Claire
  3. Hi everyone, I thought I'd make an official introduction and hello to the community. I have joined this program in the last couple of weeks and am tuning in from the north shore of Boston, MA. I am an acupuncturist, shiatsu practitioner and herbalist who also teaches meditation and mindful movement. My clinic is located in Salem, MA and endeavors to integrate these different branches of oriental medicine. The majority of my work is practicing acupuncture and teaching meditation. I work with all kinds of people in both and I do a short guided meditation for each of my patients. The meditation is as important as the needles and each acupuncture point. In my private practice I work a lot with fertility to postpartum and women's health. I have also been working in a hospital in the PACE program which stands for Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly and is for low-income high-needs patients over 55. I also do some home visits through a local hospice, providing acupuncture, bodywork and meditation. I love to work with people in transition in their lives. During the pandemic I have had my hospital and hospice work on an indefinite hold and am using this time to pivot to offering meditation and mindfulness online and to deepen my own training. I've been practicing myself off and on for 20 years or so and have been more serious about teaching it the past year. I have attended several silent retreats at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA in the past 10 years. I taught meditation combined with mindful movement like qi gong and yin yoga and meridian stretches here and there over the past 7 years. I developed a 6 week program that I am teaching virtually now. I'm happy to be here and hope to learn more about helping others overcome obstacles in their practice and how to more masterfully guide others. I actually had frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) last year and it was a painful and debilitating condition and it began to dramatically lessen once I started teaching my 6 week program and I felt that teaching mindfulness and meditation is definitely the direction I need to move towards.
  4. Hi There, My name is Teniele and I am in Perth, Western Australia. I am a children's author writing stories with a theme on mindfulness, breath, emotions and meditation. I am so glad I have joined this amazing mastermind and community, it's fantastic for both business and my own continued spiritual growth and learning.
  5. Hi everyone! Its great to be part of this community and I'm looking forward to connecting with many of you soon. So, my name is Tony Bamforth, I live in North London England and I'm sat at my desk at home right now looking out the window (when i take breaks from typing), its a cloudy fresh day and I can hear the sounds of traffic below in the street, the wind blowing through the trees, there are birds flying past my window and I'm feeling relaxed and happy. I live with my partner of 8 years - Fernando and two friends from Spain - Lena and Natali. We are all students right now which is great, Fernando studying Interior Design, Lena studying Film and Natali Fine Art. Last year I quit my job as a CEO of a community development / arts / social care / advocacy organisation working with people with learning disabilities, and took some time out to think about what was next for me. I have always wanted to be a teacher and recently decided that mindfulness will be a fundamental part of what I will teach. During my career so far I've gained extensive experience in person centred planning (coaching made accessible for people with learning disabilities), leadership, governance, strategic development, quality assurance, finance, marketing, managing people, designing and delivering projects, workshops and lectures and much more. I also have practitioner qualifications in NLP, Holistic Massage Therapy, Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. I am planning to develop an online course in the near future combining mindfulness with the other skills I've picked up along the way. After a little research online, comparing and contrasting different offers I decided that this was the best fit for me. There are many reasons I chose this course, the main one being I quickly felt I could trust Sean. I am familiar with the Spirit Rock Centre; the Insight meditation tradition in the US and the connections with my own meditation practice, so recommendations from teachers I have known about for many years such as Jack Kornfield provided reassurance that the course would resonate with me. I have been a Vipassana meditation student for many years now, having sat and served on over 15 retreats over the past 20 years (in the tradition of S.N.Goenka) and have experienced significant benefit and positive change in my life as a result of my practice. I now meditate daily every morning and evening. Another reason was the wealth of resources available, particularly the ability to use white label documents for my own practice when I am ready to start teaching, and also really important was the opportunity to be part of a community of people studying the same course as me, so we can share our insights, thoughts, questions and learn from each other. I am passionate about our ability as human beings to heal and transform ourselves, our relationships and our communities and thrive from being part of work which promotes and nurtures opportunities for people to do more of this. I very much enjoy music, art, film, dance, theatre - all the arts basically, and I'm willing to get involved in most arts based opportunities; though I can get pretty competitive at Karaoke... I'm really interested to know what ideas other students have for making use of this training, to integrate it into their lives, businesses and work. Finally I want to express my gratitude to Sean and all the other folk involved in developing this training and community, may we all make best use of the learning and opportunities available here for our own good and the good of all beings. With love and metta to you all! Tony
  6. Hi everyone :-) my name is Angie Gray. I am a nurse, prevention educator, holistic wellness coach, public speaker and certified trainer for communication, negotiation and relationships. I have been a mindfulness student for many years. I have practiced and been trained in transcendental meditation for 10 years as well as tried other types of meditation. I also practice yoga. I’m so excited about the timing of this opportunity as I am a seeker who is seeking greater understanding in the areas of meditation and mindfulness. I am very excited about the opportunity to learn for myself and offer this in my corporate health care training, and in my work with entrepreneurs. I look forward to learning from you all.
